Introduction of pancakes

INTRODUCTION

Pancakes are made like a thin and flat cake prepared from a pour batter and is then cooked using pan-fry method.
Normally, it is eaten during breakfast like what we have seen in MacDonalds.
There are many different kinds of pancakes but we shall not go into further details.
We shall just stick to the normal pancakes we see and it can be served with anything such as maple syrup, jams or even ice-cream!
Without further ado, lets get started!

Firstly and foremost, what's a recipe without ingredients to get started right?hehe.

INGREDIENTS
100g of plain flour,sifted & wholemeal flour
1 small egg

250ml of water/milk ( in this case, i use milk)

pinch of salt
oil for greasing the pan

All of the ingredients above can be easily bought from supermarket, and there's no reason for you not to try this recipe!

So here comes the serious business ok, presenting you the step-by-step pictorials
PICTORIALS & EXPLANATION

1) Weigh the 100g plain flour using a kitchen scale and sift using a sifter into a mixing bowl

2)After sifting, make a hole in the middle of the flour

3) Break and add in the egg into the hole and pour half of the milk then stir
*note: stir gently to incorporate the flour and prevention of air bubbles

4)While stirring, add in the rest of the milk slowly until a smooth mixture is achieved.
*note: too much stirring will result in a dense and heavy pancake as the stirring will develop gluten which in turn will cause CO2 gas in the batter to escape.

5)Heat the frying pan, grease it with oil and heat again.

6) Put in the pancake tin to the frying pan and pour in sufficient batter to make a thin layer.
*note: its is optional to use a pancake tin.using the pancake tin will be easier for the batter to be in circle shape.

7)When the underside of the pancake is slightly golden brown, turn it over using a palette knife

8) Transfer the cooked pancake to a clean pancake and repeat process for sebsequent pancakes.

The steps are as easy as 1,2,3 right? Do not hesitate to try!

And so, with all those pictorial and explanation of the pancakes, want to have a view on how it turns out?
